Zac Treby is a New Jersey–based drummer, educator, composer, and music industry professional with extensive experience as both a performer and mentor. During his formative years, Zac studied with highly respected educators and performers including Fred Klatz, Kim Plainfield, Peter Retzlaff, Rich Robinson, Memo Acevedo, and Ian Froman. He further developed his musicianship through formal study at Berklee College of Music and Drummers Collective in New York City.

As a performer, Zac demonstrates exceptional versatility across a wide range of musical styles, including Jazz, Rock, Heavy Metal, Gospel, Funk, Pop, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean, New Orleans, and odd-meter music. He has performed with numerous artists and ensembles, including The Shots, High Strung Band, The Polish Nannies, Modern Rewind, Midnight Overdrive, Down 2 Earth, Matty Marz, Mac Paige, Blend, Sax & Co, Joe Berger, and The Bloomsbury Church Band. In addition to live performance, Zac is an accomplished recording artist and session drummer, providing professional remote drum tracks for artists and producers worldwide.

Zac is the founder and sole owner of the Drummers Institute of NJ and the producer and artist manager at Treby Music Productions. In his role as a music manager, he works closely with artists to develop and execute comprehensive career strategies, including marketing, branding, social media development, album rollouts, audio production, web development, and live performance booking at both regional and national levels.

As a composer and songwriter, Zac writes, records, and releases original music through his publishing company, Treby Music. His work reflects a diverse musical voice shaped by his broad stylistic background and deep understanding of modern drumming vocabulary.

Zac is also a dedicated educator, Drum Coach and curriculum developer. He is the Owner and Director of the Zac Treby School of Drums, where he teaches private lessons, structured programs, and workshops and Career Coaching for students of all levels. His teaching covers a wide range of subjects, including stylistic performance, reading and chart interpretation, brush technique, solo development, rudiments, advanced technical systems such as Moeller and push-pull, and ensemble performance.
