Student Policy

Zac Treby School of Drums – Student Policy

1. Lesson Scheduling

  • Lessons are scheduled on a weekly, recurring basis.
  • Students are expected to attend their assigned time slot consistently.
  • Any schedule changes must be requested at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability.

2. Attendance & Missed Lessons

  • No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the lesson will be charged in full.
  • If a student provides at least 24 hours notice, one of the following may be offered:
    • A rescheduled lesson (based on availability), or
    • A makeup credit (to be used within 30 days)
  • Chronic absences may result in loss of the reserved time slot.

3. Makeup Lessons

  • Makeup lessons are not guaranteed and depend on instructor availability.
  • Makeup lessons must be scheduled within 30 days of the missed lesson.
  • Only one makeup lesson per month is allowed per student unless otherwise approved.

4. Payment Policy

  • Tuition is billed on a monthly basis and must be paid in advance.
  • Accepted payment methods may include credit/debit card, Stripe, or other approved platforms.
  • Late payments may result in:
    • A late fee
    • Suspension of lessons until payment is received

5. Refund Policy

  • All payments are non-refundable once the billing period begins.
  • No refunds will be issued for missed lessons or unused time.

6. Trial Lessons

  • Trial lessons are offered to new students.
  • After the trial, students must enroll in a monthly plan to continue.
  • Trial lesson availability is limited and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

7. Student Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Arrive on time and prepared
  • Bring all necessary materials (sticks, practice pad, notebook, etc.)
  • Practice assigned material between lessons
  • Maintain a respectful and focused attitude

8. Parent Responsibilities (for minors)

  • Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Support practice routines at home
  • Maintain communication with the instructor regarding progress and goals

9. Performance Opportunities

  • Students may be invited to participate in Student Drummer Showcases throughout the year.
  • Participation is encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Rehearsal commitment is required for all performers.

10. Communication

  • All scheduling, cancellations, and questions should be communicated via:
    • Email
    • Phone
    • Approved messaging platform
  • Response time is typically within 24–48 hours.

11. Media Release

  • Zac Treby School of Drums may take photos or videos during lessons or showcases for promotional use.
  • If you prefer not to be included, please submit a written request.

12. Termination of Lessons

  • Either party may terminate lessons with 14 days’ notice.
  • Remaining scheduled lessons within the notice period must be completed or will be forfeited.

13. Code of Conduct

  • Respect for the instructor, equipment, and facility is required at all times.
  • Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in immediate termination of lessons without refund.

14. Agreement

By enrolling in lessons, students (and parents/guardians) agree to abide by all policies outlined above.
